The Architecture Department offers a six semester course in Architecture that leads to a diploma in Architecture.

To provide fabulous career opportunity in architecture we provide finest infrastructure and all supports to all our students. Architecture is a synthesis of science and art working together to built the environment functionally precise and aesthetically appealing. Architectural Assistantship program proved to be highly employable.

We train our people to work as initial working assistance in an Architecture office setup, assistantship for Designer/Architect or assistant in architecture services.

Department is always focused on co-curricular activities, site-visits, training to computer aided drafting, model making, surveying and workshops. We believe that theoretical knowledge imparted during the course in architectural assistantship needs to be coupled with practical know-how when the students reach the threshold of his/her professional career. The department has also encouraged learning beyond the classroom and regular course work. Students and staff are encouraged to participate in competitions, workshops and conferences.

To get the students well acquainted with the field of knowledge, experts from various areas are invited to have interaction with the students. The department also arranges field visits for the students to see practices going on in the field.

The students trained under various registered Architects during the course period for getting field knowledge and work experience in architecture.

Established in 1994, it is housed in the heart of the campus and is served by drawing halls, model making work shop, survey lab, material lab, workshops, advanced computer lab and department library.

Activities

The following are important activities of diploma holder in Architecture.

1. Preparation of drawings.
2. Preparation of small building designs, master plans and layouts.

5. Preparation of tender documents and cost estimates including valuation.
6. Preparation of submission documents for approval.

Employment Opportunities for Diploma Holders in Architecture

The diploma holders in Architecture find employment in Service Sector as Architectural Assistant/ Draftsman/ Junior Architectural Draftsman/ Junior Planning Assistant in the following organization.

1. The private enterprises consisting of firms of Architects and Engineers.
2. Govt. Departments namely:
   • State Department of Architecture
   • State Department of Town & Country Planning
   • Central Public Works Departments
   • State Housing Board & Corporations
   • State Urban Development Agency
   • Railways.
   • Military Engineering Services.

Infrastructure of the Department

The students are imparted practical training in various labs & Workshops namely Survey Lab, CAD Lab, etc. which are well equipped with the latest instruments. The students have the opportunity to learn the new things related to their field and can be an asset for their professional life. One architectural studio building is under the process of developing stage which will provide the latest information about the newly introduced materials relating to building and construction work.
